Are You Running from God?

The only difference between success and failure is decisions. The prophet Jonah is a prime example of this. In the Old Testament book of Jonah, God gave specific instructions to the prophet Jonah concerning the people at Nineveh. Instead of heeding the voice of the Lord, Jonah paid his own fare, went down to Tarshish and was eventually thrown overboard and into the belly of a great fish. It was there that Jonah gave up his will and decided to follow the will of God.

Often, the events of life cause us to walk in disobedience to that in which God has spoken to us. You may find yourself wondering, “God, how can I start a business with limited finances?” “How can I answer the inward call of God when I have failed so much in the past?” Understand, God will never tell us to do something without eventually giving us detailed directions. It may just take one step of faith for God to bring your vision into full fruition.

Running from God doesn’t release us from God’s commands. It actually ties the hands of God upon our lives and cuts off the flow of blessings- not only for us, but also for those connected to us. How much further along will our children be if we answer God’s call? How much further can our marriages soar if we listen to God’s voice? Today, the decision is yours. Will you become stagnate by inadequacies, or will you choose to fly and see that which you have never seen before? Choose obedience and watch God move on your behalf! Then, and only then, shall you SEE IT!
